Jean-Marie joined CTLT as a Coordinator in February 2008, coming to ISU from Heartland Community College where she had been both teaching for Social and Business Sciences and working for the Instructional Development Center. She’s no stranger to Illinois State University, though; she was first employed by the Center for Regulatory Studies in the early ‘90s, completed an MBA at ISU in the mid ‘90’s, and spent three years as a full-time faculty member in the College of Business in the late ‘90s.
Jean-Marie began teaching in 1989 has been teaching web-enhanced courses since 1997; she has taught blended/hybrid and online courses since 2003. She is certified as a Master Online Teacher through the Illinois Online Network (ION) and is currently completing a Sloan-C Online Teaching Certificate.
When not working at the CTLT, Jean-Marie teaches one class per semester, participates in continuing education, and has “family time” with her husband and two young children.
Functions at CTLT
Jean-Marie’s primary responsibilities include assisting faculty with transitioning their face-to-face courses to an online environment and supporting those who have already made that transition in their online teaching endeavors. She offers consultations on online/blended course design and instruction, creates support materials, teaches workshops, and works as a Blackboard administrator.
