Claire joined the Center for Teaching, Learning & Technology in August 2006, after eight years in the English Department, where she was the Coordinator of Clinical Experiences in English Education for one year and the Associate Director of Writing Programs for seven years. She remains a member of the English Department’s graduate faculty. Claire’s scholarly interests revolve around writing, the teaching of writing, and the professional development of teachers at all stages of their careers. When she’s not at work, Claire is an ardent “nester” who spends too much time and money on her house. She’s also a “fair to middlin’” bridge player, an occasional cross-stitcher, an avid reader, the proud mom of three young adults, and the wife of ISU’s retired Director of Sports Information, Tom Lamonica, who currently teaches in the School of Communication.
